Service innovation and business models for the application of non destructive evaluation (NDE)

The Fraunhofer Development Center X-ray Technology EZRT deals with the industrial application of X-ray technology, optics and magnetic resonance: https://www.iis.fraunhofer.de/de/ff/zfp.html.

In projects with well-known industrial partners, products and objects of all kinds (such as cars, castings in production, cereal plants, etc.) are scanned and precisely recorded.

Abstract:

The data collected by these methods are applied to different industries and issues, such as crash tests, quality of materials or the optimization of properties.

The data is collected so far mainly on behalf of industrial companies and is, in particular, technically exploited, i.e. mostly for the purpose of product optimization. The application of the collected data for the design and optimization of business models or accompanying services is not yet in focus.

In the context of a master’s thesis practical approaches are to be examined, whether and how the technically collected data are also suitable for the development of accompanying services and business models and how the further use of the data as information can be made possible.
