Final presentations of “Innovation & Leadership”… with a very special guest!

This weekend has been marked by the final presentations of the students for the IIS master course Innovation & Leadership that took place at the open innovation lab JOSEPHS. This semester the students had the opportunity to ideate and work on a very concrete theme, dear to many at FAU, which is the strategy of the university illustrated by the moto “Knowledge in motion”. The teams of students progressed through the devious innovation process, iterated on several ideas, ran interviews, built prototypes, improved the prototypes… and finally got to pitch their projects this weekend in front of a jury.
Very much concerned by the topic, a special guest surprised the students and came to watch and hear what they have to say about the university and how it could develop in the future on the four axes: people, education, research and outreach. In fact, the president of FAU Prof. Dr. Joachim Hornegger joined Prof. Dr. Kathrin Möslein and the two researchers Julian Boha and Aida Boukhris among the jury, and used this platform to interact with the students and probe their ideas. And the students didn’t disappoint! Various ideas were exhibited such as a ride-sharing app for commuting between Erlangen and Nuremberg, a students portal that brings together all the platforms offered by the university under one single address, a rooms booking system, a vlogging platform for the students by the students… and many more!
