Today Patrick Meyer was invited to present their latest work at the European Conference on Information Systems 2020#ECIS2020. Together with his co-authors Angela Roth and Julia M. Jonas, Meyer adopted a mixed method approach to explore customers’ acceptance of and resistance to service robots in retailing. Their findings reveal ten drivers and six barriers, i.a. ‘social presence’ and ‘role congruency’ and reveal i.a. that customers envision harmonious human-robot teams with transparent responsibilities that improve service interactions.

Fun fact: Ironing boards are well suited for virtual presentations from your home office!
