This collaboration is part of Sennheiser’s digital transformation initiative and focuses on the development and implementation of an AI-based chatbot for shopfloor operators. The chatbot enables operators to ask work-related questions and receive accurate, timely, and context-specific answers directly within their daily work environment.

The project goes beyond a purely technological implementation. Its core focus lies on the users (shopfloor operators) whose satisfaction, acceptance, and performance are critical to success. By emphasizing user experience (UX), user interface (UI), and human-centred design, the solution aims to support operators in working faster, more efficiently, and with higher quality.

Developing and integrating such a chatbot requires close collaboration among multiple stakeholders, including operators, product and process experts, software developers, testers, and academic researchers. While chatbot deployment may appear straightforward at first glance, effective integration into complex industrial work systems requires careful design, iterative development, and continuous user involvement.

This approach ensures a sustainable, scalable solution that aligns technological innovation with real operational needs, creating long-term value for Sennheiser while generating transferable insights for research on user-centred digital transformation in industrial contexts.
