Innovation has always been a tough job: Bertha und Carl Benz had been testing a lot, until the Mercedes Star was born, and it took even longer, until many cars left the first factory every day. Turning inventions into innovation, requires a lot: entrepreneurship and, in established companies, industries or markets, transformation capabilities.
This course sheds the light on innovating new products and services and the required transformation work behind it. We will make deep dives on
- strategic planning under uncertain conditions
- innovation ecosystems and how to make them fruitful
- industry, trade and innovation policies and their impact on the transformation of industries
- the role of technical regulation, norms and standards for innovation and transformation
- organizational developments within established multinational companies to cope with their transformation needs
- changing make or buy decisions, global footprints and core competencies
By the end of the course, students understand the challenges for innovation and transformation which in particular established, multinational companies are facing today. They will have come across some major business decisions and have a feeling how they have been triggered. And they will have gathered various practical insights in industry by experienced senior managers and experts.
Lecturer Dr. Mirjam Storim will be accompanied by different guests from all over Germany, which are happy to meet you in person at the Siemens Technology Center – give them a warm welcome in presence!
